Luscombe 8A Silvaire
The 8E was created to rival Cessna’s model 140. Luscombe included back windows and an open compartment to the past Luscombe 8 models which first generation were introduced in 1946. The first Continental C-85-12 motor gave 85 hp. With full fuel, the Silvaire can carry around 400 pounds. The limited landing outfit and responsive controls can make it somewhat fascinating to land, particularly for pilots without a ton of tailwheel time. A strong 8C model can be bought for as meager as $17,000, with a 8E going for $18,500 at the low end and a 8F nearer to $26,000.
